WE DID IT! THANK YOU!

A MILLION THANKS to everyone who chipped in and shared our CrowdJustice page. YOU made it possible for us to reach our 5k goal, enabling us to achieve match-funding.

We are now overfunding. We set an achievable goal but we need a lot more. 10k is a decent start but it only stretches as far as 50 hours of legal support. Our legal fighting fund is a rolling fund, and we’re still open for support so tell yer friends here’s the link they need: https://bit.ly/EETGLegalFund

With London now in Tier 2, we must be ready to fight evictions in January when the moratorium is over. Our Government could follow European rent reductions and save our small businesses but will they? We can’t afford to wait for someone else to save us.

The fight doesn’t end with legal support. We are working with our members and partners at the New Economics Foundation and Guardians of the Arches to campaign for affordable rent. NEF policy proposals aimed at central Government will be published next month.

If the Government makes commercial rent reductions the essential policy for economic recovery, our members taking on young people via their Kickstart Scheme might actually have a chance of keeping them on when the money runs out at 6 months. Stay tuned we will need your support to make some noise!

We would like to recognise Dee O’Connell from our brilliant members The Brokedown Palace who did an excellent job on our Twitter feed for this campaign. Thank you, Dee, for all your time, talent and skill!

Thanks again we are truly stronger together!
