THANK YOU EAST LONDON!
“Thank you to everyone who supported me through this, you are all heroes, every single one of you! I could not have cleared the arch without all your help. The journey has just begun. We have got to secure a site now for community ownership. It’s the only way for small businesses like mine that provide social value. Our community is much stronger and more determined because of my eviction by TfL and PfL yesterday. The work starts now!” Len Maloney, JC Motors.
If you can, please support Len’s Fighting Fund here to ease the transition for JC Motors while the Guild raises funds for him to lead the CLT. The misleading treatment by his landlord and the uncertainty of the last 15 months has driven the business to the ground.
The last image of Len closing the gates captures rider Telemi from fellow Guild member Zhero London whisking the keys to Transport For London at Palestra in London Bridge before 5pm as instructed on the notice served to Len. This deadline was contrary to the date of 30th November stated in an email from PfL Director Graeme Craig on 13th August.
We are meeting in two weeks to progress our Community Land Trust ambition. Everyone is invited! If you want to find out the details please sign our letter to Sadiq Khan. This is how you can stay informed of the next steps!
