On Friday 18th March the EETG and the Just Space Economy & Planning Group brought together Turner Prize Winners Assemble, Author and Journalist Peter Marsh, manufacturers and makers, Greater London Authority and council officers, planners, property organisations, housing experts and academics to forge ideas to accommodate and integrate London’s future industrial capacity into our urban fabric, whilst simultaneously delivering the housing London needs.
Chaired by Liz Corbin – founder of the Open Workshop Network and resident doctoral researcher at the Institute of Making.
Groups brainstormed on five themes;
Design solutions; facilitating industrial and residential mix
Strategic and local planning; future direction
Building industrial and maker capacity in London
Documenting diverse local economies, building on strengths
Development and ownership models and possibilities
