ECHO Social

All our members and friends are invited to the ECHO social this month on Tuesday 22 May 6.30pm, Beer Merchants Tap, Hackney Wick.  Book your free ticket today!

Our very own Guild Reps Tayo Abimbola, Abz Abimbola of Franceskka Fabrics and Sarah Marcs of Buttonbag will be giving a short talk on the theme of ‘Unlikely Allies’.

EETG Summer Solstice Rep Social

Our June gathering is taking place at The Deli Downstairs in Victoria Park on Summer Solstice the 21st June, this event is also free but for EETG members only. If you are a member book your place here.

Cheshire Street Market

The next Cheshire Street Market is on 3rd June and every first Sunday of the month up to September. The deadline to book for the last free pitch is 25th May and if you block book July to September you get a £20 discount! EETG members – £40 per Sunday, non members – £50 per Sunday. If you would like to join our growing market then book your place here before we reach full capacity.

At the May market we were joined by the Pearly Kings and Queens of Finsbury and The Islington Twins no less. Come down on 3rd of June from 10 to 4, you never know who’ll turn up next!

GUARDIANS OF THE ARCHES

Please sign this letter to Chris Grayling – The Secretary of State for Transport to help us stop the sale of the arches and urge him to meet with tenants to discuss how the arches should be owned and managed.

The EETG and our partners the New Economics Foundation have been supporting our members who are also tenants in arches to set up a national tenants association for the thousands of arches up and down the country.  Guardians of the Arches was first established by Derec Hickman and his family the Chu’s of Chu’s Garage fame. When Wife and Husband Nhi Chu and Derec started to talk to other tenants along Mentmore Terrace in London Fields they began to realise that the small business furnishing these historic arches were more powerful when they worked together and shared information.
